Cleaning the US Houses

post by dawn garcia |

It just occurred to me that in a year from now we will have a new President of the United States. I can only hope our choices are fair and good. Yes, I keep hearing (and I've said) that anyone is better than what we have now but what is scary is that there could be a worse candidate out there. My hopes are that this country will reconnect with the world; we will have a leader filled with integrity and knowledge, a leader willing to clean up the mess that's been left behind. Finding a leader by definition will be a challenge. Finding someone that still believes in the principles of our government, that's tricky. Still, I have to believe that there is a leader waiting to take their seat in the White House and this person, whoever it ends up being will make Americans remember why they love this country so much. Someone that will instill some hope in us yet again and restore our international standing. Those of you who have never traveled outside of this country (and I'm sorry if you haven't), there is a huge, beautiful, enriching world out there and we need to be friendly with all nations. In order to maintain any kind of "super-power" national presence, we need to make all of the wrongs of this current Administration right. That means meeting with leaders and working TOGETHER to create more stable and multilaterally joined international relationships. At present, we are disjointed and a laughing stock ... I've traveled outside of the US many times and when you hear what the rest of world sees in America, you can't help but realize they've got a point. We've become a sad, pathetic excuse of democracy and global fairness. It's time to clean house and this time next year I hope the housekeeping begins.
